33 years after Anita Bryant's anti-gay hysteria swept the state and nation, Florida's gay families are still living in her wake. When will Florida's leaders reject the loathsome politics of fear and bigotry? Florida is the only state in America to explicitly ban gay and lesbian parents from adopting children, even as the state foster care system is overwhelmed with abused and neglected kids who need safe, forever homes. And even though the ban has been ruled unconstitutional and having no rational basis, the state continues to defend it at enormous cost to the state and to our families.
